Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Sunday, sent his greetings to the Ghana, as the West African country celebrated her 65th Independence Day. He discussed the relationship with Ghana as well as other topics. ayokinews.com reports
In the letter delivered by the Russian Embassy in Ghana, President Putin said:
“Please accept my sincere congratulation on the occasion of the National holiday of the republic of Ghana – the Independence Day,” adding that:
“The relations between Russia and Ghana are traditionally of a friendly nature. I am convinced that, further development of a constructive bilateral dialogue and partnership meets the interest of our peoples, contributing to the peace and security on the African continent.”

The goodwill message came amidst Russia’s military invasion of pro-Western Ukraine. Ghana on the other hand, had earlier condemned the Russian aggression, and also voted against Russia at the UN Security Council.
