Senator Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian federal lawmaker, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, couldn’t have won the February 25th election even with the backing of the G5 governors.
According to Sani, the G5 governors would not have made any difference if they had supported Atiku’s presidential bid.
He made this known via a post shared on his Twitter handle.
Recall that the G5 governors had refused to support Atiku in the recently concluded February 25th elections.
The G5 Governors was made up of Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu ) and Seyi Makinde (Oyo).
Sani noted that the G5 governors had failed to understand that the dynamics of politics had changed and that the people had gone past receiving instructions from governors.
“Even if the G5 backed HE Atiku,it wouldn’t have made any difference. They couldn’t even help themselves talk less of helping their Presidential candidate. They failed to realise that the masses have gone beyond taking commanding instruction from Governors; Governors now beg,” he tweeted.
