Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has apologized to Nigerians for the country’s fuel shortage and national grid collapse. reports
Following the entry of off-spec petrol into Nigeria in February, there has been a massive fuel scarcity throughout the country.
The scarcity which led to long queues at many filling stations, is now easing off in certain region of the country.
Meanwhile, power disruptions are being reported across the country, with the national grid reportedly collapsing twice in the last 72 hours.
Spokesman to the Presidency, Garba Shehu, released a statement on Wednesday, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari, is already making efforts to resolve the problem.
The president expressed his apologies for the difficulty caused by the petrol crisis in the country.

He further stated that decisive action would be taken against anyone responsible for the deterioration of the situation at the depots.
Also speaking on the epileptic power supply, Buhari said “the blackouts seen in the national grid are also being addressed”.
“A dip in hydroelectric generation due to seasonal pressures has coincided with technical and supply problems at thermal stations,” he added.
“On this, the government is also working tirelessly to resolve the issues at the latter to guarantee sufficient power flows into the national grid.”
