A Federal High Court seated in Abuja, has stopped the Nigerian federal government from deducting $418 million from the bank account of the 36 states of the Federation. ayokinews.com reports
Delivering the judgment was Justice Inyang Ekwo, who issued a restraining order against the Federal Government following an exparte order tendered to the court by counsels to the 36 states of the federation, Jibril Otukepa and Ahmed Raji.
While moving the application, Okutepa who led the legal team, told the court that the entire 36 states would be economically and completely crippled if the federal government should proceed with the money deduction from the bank accounts of their clients.
