The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Ilorin Zonal Command, has arrested eight (8) people for their participation in cyber-fraud, including defrauding through impersonation and love scams. ayokinews.com reports
Abdulrahman Ridwan, David Ayodeji, Gideon Thomas, Yinus Muiz, Yinus Lateef, Jimoh Ahmed, Lawal Farouk Opeyemi, and Oladimeji Ridwan are the suspects arrested by the EFCC. They were apprehended in Ilorin’s Basin and Asa-Dam neighborhoods after reliable intelligence about their suspected illegal activities surfaced.
Exotic automobiles, cellphones, and laptop computers were among the items recovered.
As soon as the investigation is over, authorities said they will be prosecuted in court.
Similarly, the EFCC’s Uyo Zonal Command arrested eleven alleged online fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Wednesday as part of a sting operation.
Caleb Jackson, Inemesit Sunday E, Oputu Samuel Belle, a 20-year-old civil engineering student at Uniuyo from Yala Local Government Area in Cross River State; Chinonso Ozuruigbo, Onyemaechi Chisom, Nzeakor Uchenna, Umana Israel, Victor Bassey, Solomon Utuk, Patrick Ekemini, and Akaninyene Effiong, all aged 18 to 30 would be charged in court as soon as the investigations are completed, according to the EFCC.
