The Department of State Services (DSS) has sent some of its agents to the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison in Lagos, AYOKINEWS learnt on Tuesday.
The operatives, estimated to number more than a dozen, arrived at the jail, which is situated in the Apapa region, late on Sunday, March 12.
Their presence is reportedly linked to a suspected attempt on the life of one of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s daughters.
Osinbajo, a former commissioner of justice in Lagos, and his wife Dolapo have three children: a son, Fiyinfoluwa, and two daughters, Damilola and Kanyinsola.
The DSS agents have been combing the area within and outside of Kirikiri since their arrival in search of a person who issued “a significant threat,” against the VP’s daughter.
According to information obtained, the target—who was reportedly an inmate—used a cellphone that the secret service traced to the location.
“The DSS has been there since Sunday evening and of course, their presence has brought about some panic.
“The officers believe the person they are looking for is in one of the cells or somewhere around the prison,” a source told DAILYPOST.
