Nigerian Department of State Services (DSS) has on Friday 25th, June 2021, invited popular controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, over his recent claim of the Nigerian Army aiding bandits. ayokinews.com reports
Sheikh Gumi had recently during an interview on Arise TV claimed that the Nigerian Army was aiding the operations of the Armed bandits threatening the existence of the North Central.
Prior to the controversial claim by Sheikh Gumi, the Department of State Service (DSS) office in Kaduna, summoned the Islamic cleric for intelligence questioning.
Information gotten from Voice of America (VOA) had Sheikh Gumi’s spokesman, Tukur Mamu, state that the Islamic cleric never in any way during the interview accused the Nigerian military of abetting operations of armed bandits.
He was quoted as saying that the people and “even the soldiers have been saying that there could be some bad eggs amongst them” and that Sheikh Gumi never accused the Nigerian Army.
