A federal High Court in Abuja has on Tuesday 6th July, 2021, jailed former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Adedibu Ojerinde. ayokinews.com reports
The Former JAMB registrar who was jailed for a N5.2 billion naira fraud was on Tuesday trialed in a court sitting headed by Justice Obiora Egwuatu, who ordered that Ojerinde be remanded in a correctional facility pending the hearing of his bail application.
Prof Ojerinde who was slammed with a 18 count charge at the court with C/NO: FHC/ABJ/CR/97/2021, of which he was accused of N5.2billion naira fraud and other offences which the the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission(ICPC), said he committed his tenure as Registrar.
Reacting to the charges leveled against him, Prof. Ojerinde pleaded not guilty to all charges leveled against him.
His lawyer, Peter Olorunnishola (SAN), during the trial informed the court on the bail application which has been filed by him on behalf of his client while also stating that the counter affidavit filed against his client by lawyer to the prosecution, Ebenezer Shogunle, was served on him late.
Olorunnishola further requested that the court grant his client an administrative bail which was earlier granted by the ICPC, pending his bail application hearing.
