Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, has on Sunday, congratulated his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping, over his reelection third term in office.
This was said in a statement released in Abuja by Buhari’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Buhari claims that under President Xi’s leadership, the strategic partnership and bilateral commerce between Nigeria and China, which stretch back to both countries’ official establishment of diplomatic ties in 1971, have grown significantly.
Thus, the Nigerian leader stated his optimism that the strategic cooperation with China would continue to grow in leaps and bounds in the fields of military, commerce, political, oil and gas, and financial connections in the future.
Buhari said that he believed a relationship of this kind would involve collaboration in the fields of industry, infrastructure development, agriculture, and telecommunications.
The President prayed that President Xi’s skilled and competent leadership would bring about more peace, development, and prosperity for the Chinese government and people.
