Russian-Israeli billionaire and Chelsea Football Club owner, Roman Abramovich, has officially announced his final resolve to sell the English Premier league club following weeks of speculations. ayokinews.com reports
Abramovich, on Wednesday, made the surprising announcement in a statement released via the club’s website.
“I have decided to sell Chelsea Football club. Sale will not be fast tracked,” he said.
He further noted that he has “instructed his team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated.”
This is coming after the United States (US) and its Western allies (NATO) began slamming series of financial and economic sanctions on Russia and its oligarchs, following the invasion pro-Western Ukraine.
