Nigeria’s president, Muhamadu Buhari, has vowed to bring to justice the murderers of a pregnant northern mother, Fatima, and her four children, who were killed in Anambra State on Sunday. ayokinews.com reports
Buhari cautioned the perpetrators of the vile act to expect a harsh punishment from the security agencies in a statement issued by Garba Shehu, his senior special assistant on Media and Publicity.
Following the viral recordings of the purported killing of non-indigenes by the Eastern Security Network (ESN) and its’ mother terrorist organisation, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB),’ Buhari warned against any knee-jerk responses, panic, destruction of lives and livelihoods, or even retaliatory violence.

While security agencies are now verifying the factuality and veracity of the claims that accompany the horrifying images being circulated, the president urged all citizens to avoid hasty actions or conclusions that could worsen the already tensed situation, and instead to follow a line of conduct that will allow the law to run its course.
President Buhari also warned Nigerians against indiscriminately posting things on social media in order to deny entrenched interests the opportunity to split the country and cause chaos.
President Buhari issued a strong condemnation of the “wild, brutal, and wanton killings of innocent people” in the South-East and other regions of the country, which he described as “deeply distressing,” and warned that offenders would face a harsh response from security forces.
