Terrorists, on Thursday night, once again turned up the heat of insecurity, as a military post near Zuma rock in Niger State, was attacked.
The attacked location is along the Abuja-Kaduna route, close to Madalla town and Zuba.
A few minutes after 7 o’clock, the insurgents arrived at the scene and started shooting at the soldiers, several of whom died.
They gained control of the area for roughly 30 minutes, according to a source who spoke with Daily Trust.
The assailants kept firing as they moved in the direction of the Kaduna expressway’s axis.
Police officers and soldiers from Zuma Barracks have been sent to the location.
The incident happened a few days after terrorists engaged the Presidential Guards Brigade on the Kubwa-Bwari route in Abuja.
The Brigade, an elite division of the Nigerian Army, is in charge of looking after the country’s president.
The ambush resulted in the deaths of at least three soldiers and the injury of several others.
