The Beninoise Government has reportedly turned down the Nigerian government’s request to extradite popular Pan Yoruba Activist/Agitator, Chief Sunday Adeyemo also known as ‘Sunday Igboho’. ayokinews.com reports
Sunday Igboho was earlier this week arrested by the Benin Security Operatives while on his way to Germany following his flee from Nigeria due to fear for his life.
Igboho will now be facing trial in Benin Republic for passport related offences after the Beninoise government revealed that Igboho won’t be extradited as he must first be trialed for the local offence he committed which bothers on the use of fake passport.
According to a source who spoke to Sahara Reporters, “Igboho may be arraigned for passport-related offences in Benin Republic tomorrow. His Nigerian lawyers are here already. Yoruba leaders in the Benin Republic have been supportive as well.”
