Many well-meaning Nigerian citizens have specifically outlined the various reasons why bandit groups should be declared as terrorists but the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration had vehemently refused to do just that.
The armed bandits have been on rampage and ravaging the Northern part of the country by carry out deadly attacks on innocent citizens such as kidnapping, rape, extortions and indiscriminate killings.

Commenting on the refusal to declare the arms bandits as terrorists, Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker of who represented Kaduna Central District at the 8th National Assembly said;
“They [bandits] killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
