ASUU: FG Orders Vice-Chancellors To Reopen Universities For Lectures Immediately
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Nigerian Federal Government has ordered all public tertiary institution Vice-Chancellors to re-open schools for students to resume lectures.

This was contained in a circular signed by Sam Onazi, the NUC’s Director of Financial and Accounts and Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, the commission’s executive secretary.

A copy of the  circular was received by each Vice-Chancellor, pro-Chancellor, and heads of the governing council at federal universities.

“Ensure that ASUU members immediately resume/commence lectures. Restore the daily activities and routines of the various University campuses”, the letter partly reads.

This is yet another superior order to ASUU members, who have been on strike for over seven months, following the Industrial Court’s ruling for them to return back to the classrooms.
