Leading Nigerian Pay TV operator, MultiChoice, has been ordered by an Appeal Court seated in Port Harcourt, to sub-license some of its channels to rival, Metro-digital, in pursuant to the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission’s code.
Presiding on the case, Justice Olabode Adegbehingbe ruled that the lower court had erred in dismissing the appellant’s (Metro-digital) lawsuit after the appellant established the existence of a dispute between itself and the first respondent.
In addition, Justice Adegbehingbe requested that the second respondent, Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) compel MultiChoice to comply with the court’s order within 21 days.
