Former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao Akala, has reportedly died at the age of 71-years. ayokinews.com reports
This was made public by the Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, on Wednesday.
Alao-Akala, who served as Governor of Oyo state from 2007 – 2011, died in the early hours on Wednesday in Ogbomoso.
Tolu Mustapha, the former Governor’s media aide, also confirmed the politician’s death to newsmen on Wednesday.
In a statement released by the Speaker, Ogundoyin stated that Alao Akala’s death is yet another significant loss for the state.
He further added that Ogbomoso land has once again, lost another great son.
Speaker, Ogundoyin said: “It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of Chief Adebayo Alao Akala.”
