Ahmed Musa, the captain of the Super Eagles, has revealed that the current Africa Cup of Nations will be his final game for Nigeria. ayokinews.com reports
The former Leicester City player, 29, said this during the pre-match conference for Nigeria’s opening game against Egypt, and also stated that he will not retire until the 2022 World Cup.
“I didn’t say I will retire from international football after this AFCON, but this will be my last AFCON, and we still have the World Cup that I will go.”
Ahmed Musa has been with the Nigerian Super Eagles since his debut in September 2010. This makes it his third Nations Cup appearance. He was a member of the late Stephen Keshi’s gold-winning squad in 2013, as well as the third-place team in 2019.
