Former Nigerian lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has highlighted the possibility of the newly inaugurated Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)Abuja, Nyesom Wike, getting into “serious political trouble” with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Sani stated that while there is no doubt on the ability of the former Rivers State Governor to deliver, there is a high tendency of Wike getting into serious trouble with the president considering his unguided utterances.
According to him, Wike must learn to walk in the minefield or be blown away by it.
Speaking via his official X handle, Sani wrote, “The capacity and competence of the new FCT minister to deliver is without doubt. The possibility of getting himself and the President into serious political trouble by his utterances or actions is also without doubt. He will have to learn to walk in a minefield or be blown by it.”
It should be recalled that Wike, who took office on Monday 20 August, 2023, vowed to step on toes by demolishing all illegal structures in the FCT not considering the societal status of the owners.
He further vowed to stop open grazing within the Abuja by implementing stiff measures.
