Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced a pay-increase in the salary of civil servants in the state, as he seeks for re-election in 2023.
The announcement was made by the governor on Tuesday while he was meeting with employees at the state secretariat in Alausa.
“I have looked around and I know that as a country, there is pressure,” he said.
“I know that, as a country, there is a high level of inflation.
“At our cabinet meeting, I instructed the head of service office and the ministry of staff, training, and pensions to start work on how we are going to increase the entire salary of our public servants.”
Aside from the salary increment, the governor announced that the first phase of distributing official cars to state directors will start at the end of October, first with 100 vehicles.
