A lawsuit filed by the Nigerian Federal Government to extradite suspended deputy commissioner of police DCP Abba Kyari to the United States of America was denied by Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja.
In a ruling issued on Monday, the judge determined that the extradition request made by the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, on behalf of the Federal Government was without merit and subject to rejection.

The federal government had filed extradition charges against Kyari, requesting to extradite him to America over fraud allegations leveled against him.
However, Justice Ekwo ruled that because Abba Kyari was already on trial in Nigeria for the accusations leveled against him in America, the Federal Government lacked any justification for requesting his extradition.
