The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), on Thursday, July 21, approved 140 and above as the national minimum cut off mark for the 2022 admission into public institutions.
JAMB made the decision during the Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held at Abuja (FCT).
The board also resolved that 100 would be the cut-off score for admission to polytechnics and colleges of education.

When announcing the cut-off marks, JAMB’s Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, said that no one would be permitted to receive less than the agreed-upon minimum marks of 100 for colleges of education / polytechnics, and 140 for universities. He added that every institution has the right to set its own cut-off mark even up to 220.
He further revealed that only 378,639 out of the 1,761,338 candidates who took the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scored 200 and above.
