Ondo State civil servants has on Saturday 26th June, 2021, cried out to the state governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, for the payment of their full salaries as they’re no longer interested in receiving half salary payments. ayokinews.com reports
This was made known in a communique issued by the Ondo State Executive and Administrative Council of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) after a meeting held on Saturday at the state’s capital, Akure.
The workers lamented the impact of the current economic situation of the country in comparison to the half salary being paid to them by the Ondo state government. The workers also lamented the increase in food prices and other necessary essential items in the country.
Commending the Ondo State Health Insurance Scheme, the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), called on “the state government not to commence its implementation until all issues surrounding it like amount deductible and coverage areas of the scheme, and until arrears of salaries are fully paid and government resumes 100 per cent salary payment.”
