Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, stated on Wednesday that he never expected to win the party’s primary poll. ayokinews.com reports
Tinubu stated this while giving his acceptance speech at Eagles Square in Abuja, shortly after being proclaimed the winner of the APC primary election.
He also apologized to President Muhammadu Buhari for holding him longer than required in Eagles Square.

Tinubu stated that the only way he can punish Buhari is to keep him in power.
“Let’s come together to defeat the PDP. I didn’t expect to win but I won, today is the only day I can punish you, Mr President,” he said.
Tinubu received 1,271 votes out of 2,322 votes cast at the Special Convention, defeating his main rivals Rotimi Amaechi and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who received 316 and 235 votes respectively.
