Former US President Donald Trump, has ruled out all expectation of him coming back to Twitter if his account gets reinstated, following the acquisition of the company by tech billionaire entrepreneur, Elon Musk. ayokinews.com reports
The Republican political leader stated that he would be using his own platform, Truth Social, although, he had only posted once on the social app since it launched in February.
“I am not going on Twitter, I am going to stay on TRUTH,” Trump told FoxNews, adding that Musk is a “good man” whom he believed would improve the services rendered.
“We’re taking in millions of people, and what we’re finding is that the response on TRUTH is much better than being on Twitter. Twitter has bots and fake accounts, and we are doing everything we can,” he told the network.
Following the January 2021 attack on the US Capitol by Trump’s followers, Twitter banned the 45th president for life — and he got impeached him for the second time — the company cited the “risk of further incitement of violence.”
Conservatives have complained that the California-based platform is prejudiced against them and that suspensions for disobeying the rules violate their free speech rights.
Legislators have pushed for the removal or revision of a 1996 statute that exempted social media sites from accountability for their content moderation policies and third-party posts.
Musk, whose enormous wealth originates from the success of Tesla electric automobiles and other businesses, revealed Monday that he had agreed to acquire Twitter for $44 billion.
Musk is likely to take a less stringent approach to censoring material as a self-proclaimed “free-speech absolutist,” with experts speculating that he may reinstate accounts of Trump and friends who have broken the rules.
Trump appears to have spoken to Fox News before Musk’s acquisition was made public. However, the leftist organization Media Matters for America has already warned that the former president may return.

However, the leftist progressive group Media Matters for America has already warned against the possible return of former president Trump to the micro blogging platform.
“Any negotiations to sell Twitter to Musk must include clear enforceable mechanisms to uphold and maintain existing community standards, including the removal of those who violate those standards,” the group’s president Angelo Carusone said in a statement.
During a rally in Ohio on Saturday, Trump appeared to struggle to pronounce the name of his social platform, referring to it as “something called Trove, Truth Central.”
After the launch in February, the former president took many weeks to post on his social platform.
Following its introduction, the app was downloaded by over one million people, but interest appears to have dwindled due to technical issues and excessive wait times to access accounts.
