Kazakhstan, which happens to be a very close ally of Russia and southern neighbor, refused Russia’s request of troops to heat up the battle in Ukraine, NBC reports citing its sources.

The Kazakhstan government also responded to Russia’s recognition of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), saying it won’t recognize the breakaway regions as a pretext for the aggression against Ukraine.
