Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, has denied claims that he chastised the judiciary for delaying the country’s high-profile corruption trials. ayokinews.com reports
The declaration was made in a statement by Dr. Umar Jibrilu Gwandu, Special Assistant on Media and Public Relations, Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
Malami voiced his dissatisfaction with how his response to a question in a recent interview was misread to generate “unintended and non-existing implications” that some mischief-makers saw as him attacking the judiciary.

“It was an innocent statement aimed at showing and re-enacting the tripartite division of powers and responsibilities among the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary,” he said.
Malami went on to say that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, respects the democratic norms of the theory of separation of powers among the three autonomous and separate branches of government.
