The Nigerian Federal Government on Monday, filed additional terrorism charges against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the beleaguered leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). ayokinews.com reports
In the updated petition filed before the Federal High Court in Abuja, the government upped the allegations against Kanu in the original charge.
Kanu, who has been detained since his alleged kidnapping in Kenya and forced repatriation to Nigeria, will now enter a fresh plea to 15 updated charges marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015 and signed by Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), M. B. Abubakar.
Just 24 hours before Justice Binta Nyako was set to begin hearings on the case, the Nigerian federal government modified Kanu’s charges.
