US Congressman, Devin Nunes, is reportedly set to leave congress duties to become the CEO of former President Donald Trump’s social media company (TRUTH). ayokinews.com reports
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), in a public announcement on Monday, stated that Devin Nunes, who is a staunch supporter of former President Trump, will be taking the new administrative role in January 2022.
Commenting on the announcement, Trump said, “Devin understands that we must stop the liberal media and Big Tech from destroying the freedoms that make America great.”
Meanwhile, Devin Nunes stated that the time has come for the promotion of freedom of speech as opposed to censorship.
“The time has come to reopen the Internet and allow for the free flow of ideas and expression without censorship”.
“The United States of America made the dream of the Internet a reality and it will be an American company that restores the dream,” Nunes said.
According to filings Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), was under a probe by federal regulators over the merger between TMTG and Digital World Acquisition Corporation, a blank-cheque acquisition firm.
Also, a statement released by TMTG on Saturday, revealed the social firm had entered into funding agreement with a group of unidentified foreign investors to raise $1bn, which brings the total deal proceeds to a sum of $1.25bn.
Truth Social beta version is now set to launch in the 1st quarter of 2022, although few financial details have been released by TMTG.
