Speaking on the security benefit of the 5G network in Nigeria, he noted that the deployment of the fifth generation of cellular network would aid the surveillance against criminal elements vandalising public/government assets across the country.
He further stressed that the need to deploy the 5G network across Nigeria was necessary due to the over 50,000 telecommunications sites operating across the country and about 16,000 outages recorded by mobile network operators (MTN, GLO, Airtel, 9mobile) between January and July 2021.
