Following a major shortage of fuel in key cities, 300 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), have arrived in Nigeria. ayokinews.com reports
Bashir Ahmed, President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on News Media, claimed this in a tweet on Thursday, citing Farouk Ahmed, the CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
According to him, the freshly imported 300 million litres would fill the gap and guarantee that Nigerians have access to the commodity.
kQuoting Farouk statement, Bashir said, “At least six vessels ordered by the @NNPCgroup have arrived in the country, the vessels came in with 300 million litres of PMS (petrol) meant to close the gap created by the contaminated petrol withdrawn from depots and filling stations.”
After verifying that the fuel scarcity was caused by the entry of over 100 million gallons of contaminated fuel into the nation, the Federal Government promised to look into the situation.
