Ahead of the Nigerian 2023 general election, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate, has picked Ifeanyi Okowa, the governor of Delta, as his official running mate.
Atiku unveiled Okowa as his running mate on Thursday, at the PDP national secretariat in Abuja.
He indicated that he made his choice after extensive consultation with party leaders.
Given the high caliber of individuals that were recommended, he admitted that it was a tough decision for him to make.

Announcing his resolve on his official Twitter account, Atiku wrote:
“I am delighted to announce Governor @IAOkowa as my Vice Presidential candidate. I look forward to travelling our great country together, engaging with all Nigerians and building a shared future of peace, unity, and prosperity for all. As One We Can Get It Done. #OneNigeria. – AA”
