Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the construction of a 14 bed Presidential clinic at the Aso Rock Presidential Ville, Abuja. ayokinews.com reports
Confirming the report was the Permanent Secretary to the State House, Umar Tijjani, who noted that the construction of the 14 bed clinic had been awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for N21.9 billion, and that work will commence on Monday.
This report is coming despite the fact that the N21.9 billion naira proposed for the clinic construction in the 2022 appropriation bill is still under consideration at the National Assembly.
Speaking on the project completion, Tijjani stated that the clinic construction is expected to be completed in December 2022.
He noted that the State House Presidential Clinic is going to occupy a 2700 square meters total area of land and would be fully equipped with a laboratory, healing garden, pharmacy and x-ray facility.
“The project was conceived in 2012 by previous administration. It was estimated to cost about N21bn and the facility contains 14-bed space with total area of 2,700 square meters. There will be underground and first floor, operating theatres, executive suit, VIP isolation rooms, and six-bed isolation room.

The initiative of the project was commended by some members of the Senate committee chaired by Senator Danjuma La’ah.
