The Senator-elect of Edo North, Adams Oshiomole, has assured Nigerians that the incoming 10th Senate would not be a rubber stamp for the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu after its inauguration.
Oshiomole made this known while speaking at the presentation of certificates of return to Senators-elect on Tuesday in Abuja.
The former governor stated that Tinubu is not looking for a Senate that would benefit him but rather a Senate that would fight for the Nigerian people.
Speaking further, Oshiomole noted that he would not be a member of the “legislature for the powerful but for the countrymen”.
He assured Nigerians of their interest to serve and not the love of money.
“We are not there for the allowance. Even the president-elect will not look forward to a rubber stamp assembly but the one that can help to contribute to knowledge.”
